So, of course I've been waiting for a while to begin doing some studio work. I had my first studio "experience" last weekend. We only laid down two tracks, but I think they were alright. Once we get copyrights and all in place, know that they will be posted. Also, I have a wedding lined up, and people asking for lessons and all, so I see God making ways. His word doesn't lie. Know that faithfulness will result in God's favor being upon you. Be blessed.

Happy New Year
Just letting everyone that I'm still here, hanging in there, and loving life. I am looking forward to this year being better than ever. Watch out for big things coming out of Elizabeth City (more info later). Just want to speak a blessing to those reading this. Know that God is still in charge, and with everything going on, He will still be there to provide for His children. Know that your labor is not in vain, and YOU CAN MAKE IT!!!
oh yeah, I'm loving the new "Genius" function on the new iTunes. I'm able to make the hot playlists with the click of a button. Tight work
What I'm rockin:
"Groove Masters" (Connie is a monster on the sax for real)
"Bold Right Life" - Kierra Sheard (bananas)
DW Spanky and YPJ - check the myspace ... nuf said

Happy Summer everybody
So, Q has been getting on me to get back on the blog business. So, I'm back once again. All is well on the homefront, got a healthy family, and somewhere to sleep, so it's no need for me to complain. Even though there are things I want in life, I don't complain, and I'm learning not to beg. The preacher visited yesterday, and had a special word for the house. He said that it's no need for us to continue asking and asking for our miracle. God did everything he was going to do IN THE BEGINNING. So, whatever it is that you need to happen, it's already been done. It's just up to you to line up with what God has already done. The best way to get to what you need the quickest is to praise God like it's already done. That's why the scripture in Romans 8:28 says "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Be blessed everybody.
Music on the laptop (iPod crashed)
Isaiah D. Thomas - The Greatest (check out his version of "I Will Bless the Lord")
Doobie Powell - 4 Zoe (track 2 "Alright")
Also, props to Kaz for putting me on to some audiobooks. I'm starting my first one "The Psychology of Motivation". Some deep stuff... Anyways, I'll be back soon...

Happy People
Just wanted to check in again. Nothing totally exciting going on. The kids, the wife, and everyone is doing fine. I'm excited because I've been able to buy a couple of CD's. One in particular was from a friend of mine in high school. We started a group together, and I'm excited that God is elevating him to spread the word across the land. Check him out here, and be sure to purchase a copy of the CD. It's a real good listen.
Oh yeah, the KFC band is still alive and well. I've been able to watch a new group of young guys at the church (8-10 years old) learn and mature as musicians. I'm excited about watching them grow and be productive in ministry. Watch out for the young cats (Connie would call them "tender roast").
Other new hotness:
Jonathan Nelson - Right Now Praise
Greg Roberts and Soulful Celebration - Soulful Worship
John Howard and the End Time Levites - The End Result
on the jazz side - The Philadelphia Experiment (I know it's not new, but hot none the less)

What's Up Everybody
So, it's been another month, and during this time, a lot has changed. First of all, Janae is HERE!!!! January 15, 2008 at 1:45 pm. I think I'm most excited about that. Also, my wife has just finished working towards her Master's Degree in Business Administration, so I'm very proud of her. She's my support, and she helps me to stand tall. My older daughter made Honor Roll for the first semester (you go TT), and my son is starting to use the toilet by himself. I guess when I look at everything, I could complain, but I have too much going well. Everyone be blessed, and I'll be back in a few...
Currenly rocking in the iPod:
G Mayes and NE - Diary of a Strong Souljah
Bishop Charles Blake - No Limit
oh yeah, props for Q for the inspiration: Norman Hutchins - God's Got a Blessing (with my name on it!!!)

Grateful
The word says that we are overcome by our testimony. It seems like in the past couple of months, the cliche "one step forward, two steps back" has been the reality. I have had a lot of up and downs to take place. I recently earned my National Board certification, with pay raise, only to have my wife go out on bedrest. I am currently awating the arrival of my third child, but I cannot stay in my house because I do not have carpeting.
It would seem that I should stress or ponder what to do, but I realized that some things are like they are in order for me to grow, and get where God has for me to be... oh yeah, the baby is named Janae ... still don't get it... "God is gracious".... ok, it's like this. (2 Cor 12:9) Paul asked God three times to remove his infirmity, but he had to come to the realization that God's favor is what he needed most in his life. So even as I am currently where I am in the midst of things, I know that it's all working for my good (Romans 8:28). Whenever you're feeling like everything is about to be lost, don't forget Janae... Be blessed.
Currently rocking in my headphones:
Doobie Powell - Keep Your Head Up
Tye Tribbett - I Can Make It
YPJ & FVC - Dance
* some lyrics: It'll be over in a minute, Not too much longer that we're in it, So why we wait, Might as well just dance a while
